The Natalie Conway Band is one of Sydney’s most dynamic, entertaining and versatile bands. The Femme Fatales are the ultimate all female dance sound system, not to be mistaken for anything else but party starters. A fusion of main room, party anthem, house instrumentals, with live vocalists performing a mixture of classic house and commercial tunes with retro and rap stings throughout the performance, 4 part harmonies with driving drums and percussion they are definitely not what you would describe as chill out.

Son Veneno came to life in Sydney, Australia when brothers Cesar and Steve Marin began playing music together as kids after emigrating from Latin America. Inspired by the music of bands such as Los Van Van and Irakere they found their path through the music of Cuba. The decision was made to find like-minded musicians, with the intention of forming a band dedicated to raising the standard of Afro-Latin music in Australia. This musical endeavour led to the formation of SON VENENO.

The early addition of young singer/songwriter Carlos Velazquez lifted the project to new heights. With a versatile mix of RNB, pop and soul, together with his domination of the Afro-Latin Sonero traditions, the band had found its unique and original voice.

The following years were spent performing around the country, building a healthy fan base and establishing themselves at the forefront of the music industry in Australia. Their extremely high levels of musicianship and performance led to the band being recognized internationally, constantly invited to perform at major festivals and events.

This momentum created the opportunity to collaborate with musicians outside of the Latin genre. The addition of talented young musicians Ivan Pineda, Marcus Salone, Daniel Goodacre and Dominic Kirk enabled the band to incorporate advanced elements of Funk, Reggae, Jazz and Rock into their music.

The natural progression of composing together unearthed a new alternative sound. While the Afro-Latin influences were still present, the bands original ‘Son’ influences had developed in to a brand new genre of music.

This evolution contributed to the band’s success, becoming the first Australian-Latin ensemble to make its mark in the global music industry.

Son Veneno’s diversity continued over the years, composing, recording and performing with many international artists including Ozomatli, Kelis, Maceo Parker, Cubanismo, Los De Abajo, Metallica, Reve Y Su Charangon, Fulanito, Cuban trumpeter Armando Garcia and vocalists Rebecca Tapia, Holly Ot tignon, Gonzalo Porta and Merenia Gillies.

The Jo Fabro Group have been making their mark on the Sydney Music scene for a number of years. Playing a mix of soul, funk originals, blues and jazz, the group contains some of Australia's most exciting musicians Jo Fabro, Franco Raggett, and Zoe Hauptmann & Ivan Jordan.

The Group is headed by vocalist Jo Fabro, a powerful and dynamic singer who after receiving training as a jazz vocalist was accepted as a top 10 Finalist in the Wangaratta Jazz Festival, as well as having performed both solo and with the Jo Fabro Group in Tokyo Japan, at the Tauranga Jazz Festival in New Zealand, as well as at many of Australia's Top venues such as the Vanguard, The Marble Bar, The Basement, The Peats Ridge Music Festival, the 2007 MTV Australia Music Awards, The Macquarie Hotel and the Manly Jazz Festival.

In 2007, the Jo Fabro Group released their debut album of original soul music - Save my soul. No problem: Indigo can roll out anything from The Antonio Carlos Jobim songbook comprised of Latin American repertoire to the charming tunes of Duke Ellington and the cool grooves of Miles Davis, just for good jazzy measure. ‘Steer is made up of Bass, keys, drums with the option vocals, guitar and trumpet. These soul masters have been prominent performers on stages across Australia at venues such as The Basement, Ruby Rabbit, Tatlers, Melt, WOMAD, Homebake as well as performing at The Sydney Festival.

Their smooth instrumental sound incorporates Latin, soul, reggae and funk woven into a contemporary sound that would be as equally well received in a chill out room, as it would be in the salsa club.

‘Black Gardenia evocatively recreate popular songs from the trip hop era of the 1990s to early 2000s, including favourites such as Portishead's "Glory Box", Morcheeba's "The Sea" and Massive Attack's "Safe From Harm" as well as songs by AIR, Goldfrapp, Sneaker Pimps, Hooverphonic, Groove Armada, Madonna and others.

A trio comprising vocals and acoustic guitar, cut-down jazz drumkit, and keys & loops, it's elegant, modern and familiar lounge music, perfect for setting a mood in the kind of bar where conversation is equally as important as entertainment.

In charge of keys and loops and recreating the trip hop sound is Ross Johnston, a seasoned composer, programmer and producer best known for his work with popular Australian band MGF, with whom he has enjoyed chart success, been nominated for an ARIA award, enjoyed three platinum and gold albums, made many TV appearances and toured Australia, the US and UK for the best part of a decade. He has composed for many years for film and advertising and won an IF Award for the soundtrack to "Gettin' Squared". He received excellent reviews for his recent work as Music Director & Composer for musical theatre show Risky Lunar Love at Carriageworks and children's musical theatre Monkey Shines, for the Opera House.

On jazz drumkit is Glenn Abbott, who has performed professionally in original and cover bands from a young age. Also an original member of MGF, he has toured Australia, the US, UK, sharing stadium stages with Robbie Williams, KISS, Garbage, Primus and Duran Duran, made many TV appearances and performed for all the major festivals including Big Day Out, Homebake, Falls Festival, Livid and Splendour In The Grass. Most recently he has toured Australia and Asia with his own award-winning band Super Massive and performed in the musical Risky Lunar Love at Carriageworks. He has worked as a session player live and on recordings for established artists including Tim Freedman and Tammin Sursok.

Malina Hamilton-Smith has been singing for the past three years fronting originals band Super Massive, performing club, pub and festival shows across Australia and Asia. She travelled to the UK and US in 2003 to study performance and whilst there took the opportunity to see some of the trip hop singers Black Gardenia cover - including Portishead's Beth Gibbons and Alison Goldfrapp - perform live. In the UK she also trained with award-winning international cabaret star Barb Jungr. She has also played guitar for seven years.'
